1. Navigate to https://coaching.soundingboardinc.com and log in.
A well-crafted Mentee Profile attracts the right mentor by showcasing your goals, challenges, and eagerness to learn. It acts as a lighthouse, guiding mentors who share your development needs. But it's not just about you – this detailed bio also informs program administrators, facilitating effective mentor-mentee matches where applicable. Remember, it's more than just outlining your needs; it's demonstrating your commitment to growth and leveraging mentorship for success. Craft your profile thoughtfully and unlock the door to enriching connections that shape your future and benefit the entire program.
2. Become a Mentee
After logging in, based on your company's settings, you will see the opportunity to set up your mente profile on your main dashboard-
- Click "Create A Mentee Profile"
3. Mentee Information
You should review and complete your Mentee Profile Information -
- Functional Area - Feel free to update your current role or department as needed. Any changes made here will be reflected throughout the system, ensuring mentors have up-to-date information about your expertise within the organization for more effective mentoring matches.
- Leadership Level - Fill in your current level of leadership in your organization. This helps to match you with mentors who have relevant experience and can offer targeted guidance. It's not the only factor considered, but it helps curate potential mentors who understand your professional context and challenges.
Note: Any field with an asterisk is required.
4. Mentee Information, cont.
- Areas of Growth - These are the areas you wish to develop in your mentoring profile to highlight your aspirations for growth and improvement. Sharing your desired areas of growth will not only enhance the mentor-mentee relationship but also facilitate comprehensive support in addressing a range of organizational challenges, fostering a well-rounded perspective.
💡 Tip: Areas of Growth Tip!
Mentees can personalize their Areas of Growth by adding their own custom options. They can include as many unique entries as they wish. These custom values will be visible to other users when viewing the mentee's profile, but they cannot be utilized in search filters or added to other users' profiles.

Leadership Capabilities - These are used in the matching algorithms to ensure more effective mentor-mentee matches. By sharing where you are looking to improve in specific leadership areas, you can attract mentors seeking to give guidance in those domains, enhancing the overall mentoring experience.
- You can think of leadership capabilities as combined sets of skills and mindsets used to impact the daily business of the organization more strategically as a leader. Leadership capabilities are embedded throughout our platform as they provide a frame and focus for leadership development.
6. Mentee Information, cont.
- Mentee Intro - Highlight your professional background, years of experience, and what you're seeking from mentoring. Be clear about your preferred mentoring style and the qualities you value in a mentor. This will help attract mentors who align with your goals and create productive mentoring relationships.
Note: It is required that your intro is at least 200 characters long.

When you are ready to progress -

8. Profile Picture
You have the option to add, remove, or change your profile picture as desired, providing a personalized touch to your mentoring profile.
If you do not have a profile picture yet added -
- Click "Upload"
You always have the ability to remove or change your profile picture.

9. Link Your Calendar
By syncing your calendar and setting availability, you’ll be able to use our integrated scheduling system to easily schedule sessions in the platform. Linking your calendar allows Sounding Board to see when you have open availability each day so that a session can be scheduled during those times, and a calendar event synced to your calendar.

💡 Tip: Note: Sounding Board uses Cronofy, a 3rd party service, to access your calendar as part of our integrated scheduling. Sounding Board will not make edits to any events that are scheduled outside of the Sounding Board application, unrelated to Sounding Board.

10. Complete Mentor Profile
Take a moment to review your mentee profile from a mentor's perspective—it's your chance to shine! Make sure everything is accurate and engaging. Feel empowered to make any edits or updates to ensure your profile truly reflects your expertise and personality; this can be done using the "Back" button.
Once you are satisfied with your profile -
- Click "Complete"
💡 Tip: Program Launch
You can create your profile before your self-enrollment program launches. When your mentoring program launches, you will be emailed to inform you that you can now request mentors.
