Slack Integration Installation

Sounding Board offers an integration between Slack and Sounding Board’s In-app Messaging. If a user receives a new chat message while not actively logged into their Sounding Board account, they will receive a notification via the Sounding Board Slack app in their Slack Workspace.

To opt-in to Slack notifications in the platform, your company’s Slack Admin must:

1.  Add the Sounding Board app to your company’s Slack Workspace
2. Provide Sounding Board with your company’s Slack workspace ID to complete the setup process

Installation Instructions for Slack Admins

1. To start the installation process, your company’s Slack Admin will need to go to https://sbx-api.soundingboardinc.com/slack/install
2. Click the “Add the Slack” button.
3. They will be directed to a page to confirm installing the Sounding Board App to your company’s Slack workspace:
4. Slack Admins should review app permissions and click “Allow.” Once completed, the Sounding Board app will be installed into your company’s workspace.
5. Sounding Board is now installed in your Slack workspace. 
   1. Slack Admins can confirm the app is installed by viewing available apps in your workspace.
6. Your company’s Slack Admin will then need to find the Slack Workspace ID and provide it to [e-mail] 
   1. 1. Open up the Slack Admin setting in your web browser at: https://'CompanyWorkspaceName'.slack.com/admin/settings
      2. Click on the “Launch” Icon in the upper left corner:
      3. Copy the workspace ID from the URL; it’s the value following ‘/client/’ in the URL:
7. Send your company’s Slack Workspace ID to the Sounding Board team at [e-mail] to complete the set-up process.
