Proprietary/Default Work Style Assessment Used to Inform Matching [BASE]
The Work Style Assessment informs one aspect of our proprietary AI-Powered matching process. This assessment is based on the Social Styles Model and evolved to what Sounding Board believes creates the most transformative leadership development relationships, like coaching and mentoring.
Upon onboarding, all users are required to fill out the Work Style Assessment, which is used to inform coach matching. Work Style Assessment includes sections that the user is asked to evaluate themselves on: Communication Style, Thinking Style, Personality Style, and Learning Style.
World-Class AI-Powered Matching Algorithm [BASE]
With access to Sounding Board’s proprietary coach matching algorithm coachees and mentees can be provided with an optimal match based on their working style, among a variety of other factors. Sounding Board’s coach matching algorithm ensures increased engagement and immediate impact between users and has contributed to Sounding Board’s 97% first-match success rate.
Sounding Board's proprietary algorithm matches coachees with a coach or mentees with a mentor based on the user's communication, thinking, personality, and learning styles to find a Coach or Mentor that best suits them.
Optionality for Admin-Driven Matching, Automated Matching, or User-Driven Matching [BASE] [BASE*]
Options for various types of matching allow admins to have control over how much oversight they want to have in the matching process for each program, or based on what is best for each individual leadership development experience.
When creating a program, admins have several options for matching. The default matching type is Automated Matching + Admin-Driven Matching. With Automated Matching, the matching algorithm will recommend a coach/mentor for all unassigned coachees/mentees in the program that have filled in the Work Style Assessment, while also taking into account any matching settings that are enabled. The admin can then choose to assign all recommended matches or select individual users to assign. With user-driven matching, the AI-powered matching algorithm will provide a list of the top 3 matches and the coachee/mentee will have the option to select their coach/mentor from the generated list.
*User-Driven Matching feature can be disabled upon request.
Ability to Set Matching Filters [BASE]
Ability to refine the list of coaches to be matched with a coachee, or mentors to be matched with a mentee, to create a more concentrated matching effort and allows users to be matched with a coach or mentor that meets the specific needs of that individual or program.
Within matching settings for coaching and mentoring programs, admins can filter the list of coaches or mentors related to:
-
Primary language [BASE]
- When this matching setting is enabled, the matching algorithm will only recommend coaches or mentors that have the same primary language as the coachee or mentee and will not take into account the user's additional languages.
-
Time zone [BASE]
- When this matching setting is enabled, the matching algorithm will only recommend coaches or mentors that have a +/- 3-hour time zone difference from the coachee or mentee.
-
Leadership Level (Coaching modules only) [BASE]
- When this matching setting is enabled, the matching algorithm will only recommend coaches that have the same or a higher leadership level than the coachee
-
Functional experience [BASE]
- When this matching setting is enabled, the matching algorithm will display users whose "Professional Leadership Experience — Functions" selection on their coach or mentor profile matches the coachee or mentee's “Functional Experience” selection from the Basic Info step of their onboarding.
-
Coach assessment & certifications (Coaching modules only) [BASE]
- Admins can select Assessment(s) and/or Certification(s) that the coach must have so only coaches who match that criteria will be recommended to be matched to a coachee.
-
Industry experience (Coaching modules only) [BASE]
- Admins can select Industry Experience(s) that the coach must have so only coaches who match that criteria will be recommended to be matched to a coachee.
-
Shared coach for direct reports and manager (Coaching modules and Automated Coach Matching only) [BASE]
- When this matching setting is enabled, the matching algorithm will prevent the same coach from being recommended to direct reports and their manager during Automated Coach Matching.
Ability to Facilitate Re-Matching of Coach or Mentor [BASE]
Allowing admins to facilitate the re-matching process can help ensure that the user is being re-matched to an optimal coach or mentor based on any feedback or special requirements shared and will lead to the best leadership development experience for the user.
Admins can re-match a coachee to a new coach, or mentee to a new mentor, as needed. Coach re-matching can be done from the Coach Matching step in the Program Builder or the Engagement table.
