1. Navigate to https://coaching.soundingboardinc.com and log in.
Once you have enrolled into an open enrollment program as a mentee, you will be presented with recommended mentors.
As you are in an automated matching mentoring program, understanding our AI's process helps you know how your top 3 matches are selected. Admins can set filters like language, time zone difference, and leader level alignment. Our algorithm considers mentee and mentor Work Style Assessment results for precise matches.
We'll present these top 3 matches, noting the best fit for you. If you prefer, you can search for mentors based on specific qualities or expertise. Remember, aim for a mentor who can help you grow, even if they're not identical to you. Focus on finding someone who can elevate your thinking and guide you towards your goals.

To view the mentor's profiles, click on their card.

If you're participating in a mentoring program with automated matching, it's beneficial to understand how our AI-powered process selects your top 3 matches. The default settings prioritize the top three matches by selecting mentors who are fluent in the mentee’s language, within +/- 4 hours of their timezone, and eager to mentor their leadership level, guided by our matching algorithm. Mentees can further refine their results using available filters and search options. These filters ensure that the AI considers important factors when suggesting matches tailored to your needs.
Our proprietary matching algorithm takes into account not only these criteria but also the Work Style Assessment results of both the mentee and potential mentors. This comprehensive approach ensures that the top 3 recommended matches are a good fit for your style and preferences. With a 95% success rate for coaching and mentoring, our matching algorithm aims to pair mentees with mentors who can quickly establish rapport while offering valuable perspective and diverse approaches to developmental experiences.
Whether you're part of a structured program or an open enrollment initiative, the AI-powered matching process guarantees that your top 3 recommended matches will suit your needs and preferences. However, if you prefer, you can use the search functionality to narrow down your selection based on specific mentor qualities or areas of expertise that are most critical to your mentoring experience.

3. Recommended Mentors
Take time to review your recommended mentors. You will notice they have highlighted their Leadership Capabilities Expertises, and Other Areas of Expertise, as well as shared an Introduction for you to get to know them a bit better.

4. Find a Specific Mentor
After you review your top recommended mentors, you can also Find a Specific Mentor, which displays below your recommended mentors.
You have the ability to search and filter by -
- Name or keyword
- Functional Areas
- Leader Level
- Areas of expertise
- Leadership Capabilities
- Language
- Time Zone(s)
Once you set your filters, click "Show results"
Note: Search settings default to search for mentors who are fluent in your language, +/- 4 hours of your timezone, and eager to mentor your level of leader and our matching algorithm.
5. Find a Specific Mentor
To view the mentor's profiles, click on their card or their read more link.
Take time to review your recommended mentors. You will notice they have highlighted their Leadership Capabilities Expertises, and Other Areas of Expertise, as well as shared an Introduction for you to get to know them a bit better.

6. Request Mentor
Once you have reviewed and decided who you would like to mentor, you can request for them to mentor you. When on their profile card -
- Click "Request Mentor"
💡 Tip: When mentors are requested, they will receive an email, along with an in-app notification, alerting them to review the request. Mentors will have two weeks, or 14 days, to either decline or accept the mentor request; after that time, the request will expire.
7. Cancel Mentor Request
You will notice that your request now shows under Pending Mentor Requests.
If at any time you feel as though you would like to find another mentor, you can cancel the pending request.
- Click "Cancel request"
We then recommend you search and request a new mentor!
💡 Tip: As soon as your requested mentor responds to the request, you will be notified in app and via email.
- Accepted - If your requested mentor accepts, you will then be able to schedule sessions when you next log into the system.
- Declined - If your requested mentor cannot mentor you, you will be directed to find a new mentor to request when you next log into the system.
- Expired - If the requested mentor does not respond within two weeks, the request will expire, and when you next log into the system, you will be able to request a new mentor.
