This self-assessment informs one aspect of our proprietary AI-powered matching process. This assessment is based on the Social Styles Model and evolved to what we know creates the most transformative leadership development relationships, like coaching and mentoring.
The other valuable element of this framework is that it is based on observable behaviors, including what we say or what we do and what can be seen or heard. This means that you can assess someone’s style on your own, merely in how you observe and experience them along these dimensions.
Completing your Work Style Assessment
When creating your account and onboarding onto the Sounding Board application, you will be led through the Work Style Assessment, which includes four sections:
- Communication Style
- Thinking Style
- Personality Style
- Coaching Style
As you complete it, please be honest and go with how you actually show up in the world as a person, not the perception of how you want to show up as a leader, mentor, or coach. The more accurate this assessment is to how you interact with others, the more successful matches we can create for you.
Please do not use neutral for any of your responses, nor put “extreme” answers for all of the gradients. Use your gut instinct to tell you which side of the line you are on, even if it’s only slightly to one side or another.
We encourage you to provide thoughtful responses during this onboarding process, minimizing the need for constant updates, but if you feel updates are needed, please see How to Edit Your Work Style Assessment (WSA).
