1. Navigate to https://coaching.soundingboardinc.com and log in.
Crafting a compelling Mentor Profile is essential in any mentoring program. It serves as a beacon for mentees seeking guidance and inspiration. A well-formulated mentor profile not only attracts mentees but also assists program administrators in making effective mentor-mentee matches. By showcasing your expertise, passion, and values, you're not only inviting mentees to connect but also laying the foundation for meaningful mentorship journeys. Remember, your mentor bio is more than just a description—it's an invitation to make a difference in someone's life.
2. Become a Mentor
After logging in, based on your company's settings, you will see the opportunity to set up your mentor profile on your main dashboard-
- Click "Become a Mentor"
3. Mentor Information
You should review and complete your Mentor Profile Information -
- Functional Area - Feel free to update your current role or department as needed. Any changes made here will be reflected throughout the system, ensuring mentees have up-to-date information about your expertise within the organization for more effective mentoring matches.
- Leadership Level - Fill in your current level of leadership in your organization.
Note: Any field with an asterisk is required.

Leadership Capabilities Expertise - These are used in the matching algorithms to ensure more effective mentor-mentee matches. By showcasing your strengths in specific leadership areas, you can attract mentees seeking guidance in those domains, enhancing the overall mentoring experience.
- You can think of leadership capabilities as combined sets of skills and mindsets used to impact the daily business of the organization more strategically as a leader. Leadership capabilities are embedded throughout our platform as they provide a frame and focus for leadership development.

- Areas of Expertise - Showcase your diverse organizational experience beyond your current department. This broader perspective not only enriches mentor-mentee interactions but also enables more holistic support in navigating various organizational challenges.
💡 Tip: Areas of Expertise Tip!
Mentors can personalize their Areas of Expertise by adding their own custom options. They can include as many unique entries as they wish. These custom values will be visible to other users when viewing the mentor's profile, but they cannot be utilized in search filters or added to other users' profiles.
6. Mentor Information, cont.
- Target Mentees - Based on their level within the organization, who do you prefer to mentor or select "no preference" to mentor individuals across all levels, aligning with your mentoring goals and expertise. Tailoring your mentorship or embracing diversity across organizational levels enhances effectiveness and promotes inclusive professional development for mentees.

- Mentee Capacity - Indicates the number of mentees you can effectively support concurrently, ensuring a manageable workload and high-quality mentoring relationships. This allows for personalized attention and meaningful guidance tailored to each mentee's needs.
8. Mentor Information, cont.
- Mentor Intro - This section provides insights into your professional history, years of experience, leadership and mentoring background, and preferred mentoring style. This enables mentees to understand your expertise and approach, fostering better alignment and more productive mentoring relationships.
Note: It is required that your intro is at least 200 characters long.

When you are ready to progress -
- Click "Next"
10. Profile Picture
You have the option to add, remove, or change your profile picture as desired, providing a personalized touch to your mentoring profile.
If you do not have a profile picture yet added -
- Click "Upload"
You always have the ability to remove or change your profile picture.

11. Link Your Calendar
By syncing your calendar and setting availability, you’ll be able to use our integrated scheduling system to easily schedule sessions in the platform. Linking your calendar allows Sounding Board to see when you have open availability each day so that a session can be scheduled during those times, and a calendar event synced to your calendar.

💡 Tip: Note: Sounding Board uses Cronofy, a 3rd party service, to access your calendar as part of our integrated scheduling. Sounding Board will not make edits to any events that are scheduled outside of the Sounding Board application, unrelated to Sounding Board.

12. Complete Mentor Profile
Take a moment to review your mentor profile from a mentee's perspective—it's your chance to shine! Make sure everything is accurate and engaging. Feel empowered to make any edits or updates to ensure your profile truly reflects your expertise and personality; this can be done using the "Back" button.
Once you are satisfied with your profile -
- Click "Complete" and
- Click "RETURN HOME"
💡 Tip: Program Launch
You can create your profile before your self-enrollment program launches. When your mentoring program launches, you will be emailed to inform you that you will start receiving mentoring requests.
