This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to view and manage coaching and mentoring sessions on the Sounding Board platform. It explains how to navigate to the dashboard, view upcoming and completed sessions, log sessions, reschedule or cancel sessions, join sessions, add session resources, view session details, link sessions to leadership capabilities, add session descriptions, view the full schedule in a calendar view, and navigate between different session views. It is a comprehensive guide for users who want to effectively manage their coaching and mentoring sessions.

Written Walkthrough
1. Navigate to https://coaching.soundingboardinc.com and log in.
Users who are in an engagement as a leader, coach, or mentor, have the ability to easily review and take action on their coaching and/or mentoring sessions in the system.
If users have multi-role access, they will want to ensure they are looking at their correct dashboard. For more details, see Toggling Multi-Role Dashboards: Sounding Board Access.
2. Dashboard View
On your dashboard (coachee, coach, or mentoring), you will see an overview of your sessions.
Under the Upcoming tab, you will see up to 3 unlogged sessions, if you have any, and your next 3 scheduled future sessions.
You can also view Completed or Cancelled sessions under their respective tabs.
💡 Tip: Viewing Sessions Tip!
If you are involved with different types of programs (1:1 coaching, group coaching, on-demand coaching, mentoring), you will see tabs differentiating your program types. If you are only in one type, the tabs will not display, and you will simply see the information about your sessions.

Sessions are color-coded to make them easier to distinguish at a glance -
- Blue - Upcoming Scheduled Coaching Session
- Purple - Upcoming Scheduled Mentoring Session
- Green - Past Logged Session
- Red - Cancelled Session
3. Calendar Session Download
The calendar download option will be visible and available to users in the following scenarios:
- When no calendar is synced to their account
- When their calendar fails to sync automatically
- When specific sessions haven't successfully synced to their calendar
This manual download option ensures users can still access and import their event information even when automatic synchronization isn't available.
Note: Downloaded calendar events are a snapshot in time. If a session is later rescheduled or cancelled, your downloaded calendar event will not automatically update to reflect these changes.
4. Rescheduling or Cancel Sessions
Any user who has a session on their dashboard, has the ability to cancel or schedule it.
- Click "Reschedule" or
- Click "Cancel"

5. Logging Sessions
Coaches, mentors, and mentees all have the ability to log sessions once their scheduled time has passed.
- Click "Log Session"

6. Session Link
Users have the ability from their dashboard to automatically join the session -
- Click the Session Link
💡 Tip: Session Link Tip
An hour before the session time, you will see the "Join Session" option on your dashboard.
Note: If your calendar is synced, you can also access the session link in the calendar event for the session. For further details, see An Introduction to Calendars and Scheduling.
7. Session Resources
Coaches, mentors, and mentees all have the ability to add resources to individual sessions. To add a resource -
- Click "Add Session Resources"
Note: Coachees have the ability to "View Session Resources" rather than add.
8. Add a URL Resource
Fill out the details for the resource -
- Title*
- Description*
- Toggle the Is a URL link option
- Url*
- Click "Add URL"
Note: Currently, we only support the following file types: URL, PDF, JPG, and PNG.
Note: Any field with an asterisk is required.
9. Add a File Resource
Fill out the details for the resource -
- Title*
- Description*
- Click "File" and select the file
- Click "Add Resource"

10. Session Details
Users have the ability to expand to see further details about the session. To view and edit further, find the session and
- Click the 🔽 icon (down arrow)
11. Leadership Capabilities
You can think of leadership capabilities as combined sets of skills and mindsets used to impact the daily business of the organization more strategically as a leader. Leadership capabilities are embedded throughout our platform as they provide a frame and focus for leadership development.
Link a session to a Leadership Capability -
- Click the 🔽 icon (down arrow)
- Select the appropriate Leadership Capability(ies)
12. Session Description
You can add details about the session in the session description -
- Click the "Session description" field
- Enter the appropriate description
13. View Full Schedule
If you want to view all of your sessions in one place in a calendar view -
- Click "View Full Schedule"
14. View Full Schedule
From here, you can navigate through months as needed. You can also take action on sessions by clicking on the session.
Note: The same actions are available here on the dashboard view; the actions depend on the session status, date/time, and user role(s) in the system.
15. View Full Schedule
If you wish to see a list of all your sessions -
- Click the "List View" icon
From here, you can navigate between All Sessions, Upcoming (default view), Cancelled, and Completed sessions.
Note: The same actions are available here on the dashboard view; the actions depend on the session status, date/time, and user role(s) in the system.
16. View Full Schedule
Once you have completed with the full schedule view -
- Click "Close"
