This article explains which parts of the Sounding Board platform are translated, and how coachees and managers can change their app display language.
This article is for Coachees, Managers, and Admins. The language selector steps apply to Coachees and Managers only.
What Languages Are Supported?
As of v63 (April 2026), the Sounding Board platform supports French (Traditional) for coaching coachees and managers. Additional languages are planned for upcoming releases and will be announced ahead of each release.
Tip: Language availability is enabled on a per-customer basis. Contact your Sounding Board account team to confirm which languages are available for your organization.

What Requires Browser Translation
The following are not translated by the platform. Use your browser's built-in translation tool:
- Zendesk help center articles
- Coachee and manager dashboard resources
How Language Is Set
Language is set when a user's account is created. Admins must specify both the user's Primary Language and their Role at account creation for translation to apply.
Tip: If your organization supports your language, your platform experience is likely already set correctly -- your admin configures this when your account is created. You only need the steps below if you want to change the language displayed in the app.
How to Change Your App Language
This section is for Coachees and Managers only.
1. Navigate to https://coaching.soundingboardinc.com and log in.
2. In the top navigation bar, locate the language selector -- it appears as a translate icon followed by your current language (e.g., English) with a dropdown arrow. Click it to open the language dropdown.
3. Select your preferred language from the available options.
4. The platform interface will update to display in your selected language.
Tip: Changing your app display language does not change your Primary Language -- the language used for coach matching. These are two separate settings. To update your Primary Language, see the Basic Info step in Onboarding to the Sounding Board Platform: https://soundingboardinc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/19558055332891
What changes when you update your app language:
- Platform interface text (menus, buttons, labels)
- In-app notifications
- Email notifications going forward
- Surveys
What does not change:
- Your Primary Language setting (used for coach matching)
- User-entered content such as notes, program names, or resource titles
- Zendesk help articles -- use your browser's built-in translation for these
