Platform Translation - French Language Support (v63)

WHAT IS NEW
French language support is now available on the Sounding Board platform. Coachees and managers whose accounts are created with French specified as their Primary Language will see the platform's core experience in French, including the onboarding flow, in-app interface, email notifications, and core surveys.
This is the first release in a phased translation rollout. Additional languages are planned for v64/v65 and will be communicated ahead of each release.
Tip: French translation is enabled on a customer-by-customer basis. Contact your Sounding Board account team if you have questions about availability for your organization.
WHAT IS TRANSLATED
- Platform interface (static UI text) for coachees and managers in coaching workspaces
- Welcome emails and account creation flow
- Onboarding experience -- onboarding videos are in English; subtitles in many languages are available via the Vimeo CC feature
- In-app notifications and email notifications
- Core surveys using default leadership capabilities
WHAT IS NOT TRANSLATED IN V63
- User-entered or admin-created content (program names, resource library content, custom leadership capabilities)
- Zendesk help center articles -- use your browser's built-in translation for these
- Coachee and manager dashboard resources -- use your browser's built-in translation for these
- The mentoring experience -- translation applies to coaching workspaces only
Tip: Custom leadership capability translations must be requested from your Sounding Board account team -- this is not self-serve for customer admins.
IMPORTANT: PRIMARY LANGUAGE MUST BE SET AT ACCOUNT CREATION
For a coachee or manager to receive a translated experience, Primary Language must be specified when their account is created. This is the only way they will receive their welcome email, account creation flow, and onboarding in their preferred language. Role must also be specified at account creation -- translation applies to coachee and manager roles only.
ALERT: Primary Language cannot be retroactively applied to accounts created without it specified. Ensure your admin team sets Primary Language and Role at account creation for all non-English users.
IN-APP LANGUAGE SELECTOR
Coachees and managers can change their app display language using the in-app language selector in the top navigation bar after account creation.
Note for coachees and managers: Changing your app display language does not change your Primary Language. Your Primary Language -- used for coach matching -- is set separately and is not affected by the language selector.

WHAT CHANGED
This release updates the login page and onboarding email experience to align with each user's authentication setup. Previously, the platform sent the same welcome email and displayed the same login options to all users regardless of how their account was configured — causing confusion for users in SSO-only organizations who were prompted to create a password they would never use.
AUTHENTICATION-AWARE LOGIN PAGE
The login page now detects your authentication configuration automatically and displays only the sign-in options that apply to you.
- SSO-only users will see only the option to sign in through their company's identity provider. The password option will no longer appear.
- Password-only users will see only the standard email and password login. The SSO button will no longer appear.
- Hybrid users will see both options and can choose how to sign in.
Users arriving via a link in an email will be routed directly to the correct login experience based on their configuration.
Tip: If you're unsure which login mode applies to you, contact your program administrator or IT team.
UPDATED WELCOME AND ONBOARDING EMAILS
Welcome emails and account creation reminder emails have been updated for all user types in both Guide and Expand workspaces.
- Email language now refers to "accessing your account" rather than "creating a password," making it accurate for all authentication configurations.
- The email button now routes you directly to the correct login experience for your organization.
ALERT: If your organization uses SSO-only authentication, users were previously not receiving a welcome email when their account was created. This has been fixed. All users — regardless of authentication method — will now receive a welcome email upon account creation.
WHAT YOU DON'T NEED TO DO
This update is automatic. No action is required from users, admins, or IT teams. Login behavior will update immediately for all users.
